CubeWork - a VR Puzzle Strategy Game

The team here at TinMoon Studios recently launched our first VR game, CubeWorks. We would love to hear what the community thinks!

CubeWorks is a VR puzzle game that focuses on challenging spacial manipulation in VR. The focus of the game during development was to create something that could only be experienced in VR - not a port of an experience we’ve already played. What we came up with was a game that took advantage of VR’s unique interface because we found what drew us to VR was the unique way VR allowed the players interacted with the game.

The basic concept of the game is that it’s about matching cube faces together, but that’s like saying tetris is simply about matching lines. As you progress in CubeWorks we layer on new challenges. The first few maps are very simple and the only thing the player needs to worry about is matching a number of blocks in a given time frame. Later maps introduce additional fail states that force the player to keep organized about blocks they have, remember where they store blocks in the environment, as well as introducing other objects to the play space that can be ignored or used to build power ups.

We’d love to hear what the community thinks! We’re currently in early access on Steam but are working on the PSVR port that will launch later this year.

Honestly, I didn’t get a chance to try it out yet, but it looks like a very innovative and immersive game. I am loaded with games right now, I might give it a try in the upcoming days.I will recommend it to friends. Thanks for sharing and
